Upgraded Book model

This is the.. well, kinda like an upgraded version of the previous book. This one has pages (of cubes-paper like) rather than just using a cube as its pages. It doesn't take a long time to model this!

Maybe since I use the previous book, which is already prepared, so I just need to modify a bit in edit mode, add cubes and modify them to look like pages. This one, I like it more. The book cover and pages are separate models.

I used 23 cubes, for this one. The idea of seperate pages by using cubes came out of my mind like in sudden. But hey, it works, right? :D

Gauss Rifle

Well, sorry for the one-side only image, its quite big so I took a one side shot only! Sorry! But hey, you can open the image larger anyways. So! This is my 6 and a half hour work.

3:00 PM - 9:30 PM

Didn't use any guide too, I must admit, it was hard. In the last stage of model confirmation, I kinda think, it was way too messy. I added too much 'decorations' so I decided to remove some. And the model preview above is the last, confirmed stage.

Well! It was fun! Doing the trigger is the funniest part. It looked like a duck instead of a trigger and I can't stop laughing nor thinking about it. The second try, it just don't seem right. So I gave up and try to do it slowly, at last! Success!!

I don't know if I should call this a Gauss Rifle or just a Standard Rifle. Maybe a Laser Rifle like in Dawn of War the game used by Imperial Guardsmen? Oh well, I finished it anyways! I used 33 cubes in this one. Hard is hard! :D

Short Sword

It does look simple enough to be modeled. Well, sort of.. But I must say! I like it! But the only thing I'm quite not satisfied... the handle.. its not balance and is very edgy. Ruins the quality even for a simple sword.

Well, I may fix it later, when I have time to return to it and fix it.. Right now I want to focus on learning how to make a ship, like a pirate ship. Yeah, lets just try that!

On a second thought.. I'll make it day by day instead of straight 2-3 hours. Beginner's problem maybe. Funny!

'T3' Helmet!

Yes! Success with my very own made Marine helmet! well, its just a simple one really, took me an hour. I used the plain head to ensure the size of the helmet. But, I guess this is a good, simple model for a beginner!

Not textured... So sad because I am totally bad in texturing. Anyways, I would love to give this helmet a name, maybe.. 'T3'? :D
Well, that would be it for a while I guess. But umm.. If I didn't figure out a good name then that it will be!

After finishing the helmet, the one on the left, which is the backside of the helmet looks quite plain. I may want to add a pattern or decorate it some more. It should look better ones I get some good textures for it. (Try hard!) :)

A Book!

Wow, thats all so far I can say about this book model. I mean, for my second model, this is actually good! An un-textured version of this of course, I got 2 textures that I tested on this and hey! Its a job well done for a beginner!

Sure I use different pose for each different texture of the book, lets just say it is the book cover. I still want to add a bit in here though. Maybe a pattern across the book cover, like Lord of the Rings book!

I was raging 20% of my time can't figuring out how to do this, but then I tried turning on and off some options and it solve the problems. Weird, huh? Well! I'm satisfied! Oh, I can't wait to show you the helmet! A simple Marine helmet made in 1 hour.

I must say it looks good! I'll show it to you soon!

Plain Head!

Blender 2.5 on Ubuntu Oneiric!
I currently am trying to make a helmet, of course I'll be using this head I made to calculate the size of the helmet! Actually, its quite simple to model this kind-of head. Since it's plain, no mouth, no eyes, nose and ears.

While modeling this head, the first thing I thought is I should texture it with skin texture. Well, on a second thought it doesn't seem to deserve a texture. But I'm enjoying the fun moments modeling this, since its easy for a beginner! So, for a beginner I don't really know the numpad controls yet. I'll see what I can find!

Oh! And the neck isn't a different model, to make the neck I just simply select a few points, press E and drag it down! There you go. And about the helmet, I should make a simple but yet fun one. Yeah! Lets just do that!

Getting started!

Lets start with the mouse controls! So, holding the middle mouse button and move your mouse around allows you to rotate in 3D space! I still need to get use to it.. Also am able to zoom in and out by scrolling the middle mouse button!

Good so far! Now, I can pan around by holding the Shift key and middle mouse button and moving the mouse around. Well, I accidentally tried something while experimenting the mouse buttons in Blender.

I hold right mouse button and drag the object around then let the mouse button go. I then, continue by clicking the left mouse button and it dropped the object there! I still don't know how to put it back in the center again though.

I'm trying to find out what is the circle thing when you click your left mouse button on the stage and the camera thingy, its function.

Wow, there's a lot more to experiment! I'll see what I can do by pressing some numbers on numpad. Till' then!
